Equivalence test
Individuals with foreign vocational qualifications can apply in Germany for an examination of the equivalence of their vocational qualification to a German reference occupation, irrespective of their nationality. Throughout Germany, there are different authorities and institutions that process these applications and carry out checks – so-called "zuständige Stellen" (competent bodies). Jurisdiction depends on the reference occupation chosen and the applicant's place of residence.
