Focus on the immigration of qualified specialists: Joint event in Wittenberg offers insights

On 13 March 2024, the Halle-Dessau Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Halle-Dessau) held a business dialogue in Wittenberg on the highly topical issue of the immigration of qualified specialists. Under the title "Recruiting qualified speciaists from abroad – explained step by step", the process of immigration of qualified speciaists to Germany and to Wittenberg in particular was highlighted.

The event provided a comprehensive overview of the path that a qualified specialist from abroad must take to gain a foothold in Saxony-Anhalt. The speakers from the WelcomeCentre Saxony-Anhalt and "Make it in Germany" provided information on the new provisions of the Skilled Immigration Act and the integration of qualified specialists in companies. In addition to basic information on the law, they also explained the support structures in Saxony-Anhalt that help qualified specialists with their immigration and integration. Particular attention was paid to issues relating to the recognition of qualifications, short-term employment opportunities and the various phases in the recruitment process.
